Author Guidelines
The International Journal of Science, Technology and Interdisciplinary Practices (IJSTIP) aims to advance the field of science education by publishing high-quality, innovative, and evidence-based research. The journal serves as a platform for educators, researchers, and policymakers to share insights, methodologies, and best practices that enhance science teaching and learning globally.
The International Journal of Science Teaching Innovations and Practices (IJSTIP) publishes innovative research in education, focusing on contemporary trends, challenges, and solutions. Submissions should be well-structured, original, and contribute to the advancement of educational theory, policy, or practice.
Before You Begin
Ethics in Publishing
Authors must adhere to the highest ethical standards in research and publication. Plagiarism, duplicate submission, and fabricated data are strictly prohibited. For further details, refer to the Ethics in Publishing Policy.
Declaration of Interests
All authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence the research. Use the Declaration of Interests Form and upload it during submission.
Inclusive Language
Inclusive language is required in all manuscripts. Avoid stereotypes, cultural assumptions, and discriminatory expressions. Use gender-neutral language, such as “they/their,” and ensure respect for all people regardless of age, gender, race, ethnicity, or disability.
Authorship
All authors should have contributed significantly to the research and must be listed on the manuscript. Any changes to the authorship after submission must be approved by all authors and the editor.
AI Disclosure
Authors must disclose the use of generative AI tools in the manuscript preparation process. Use must be limited to language improvement or assistance, with human oversight. AI usage must not exceed 10% of the total manuscript.
Types of Articles
The journal accepts the following types of articles:
- Original Research Articles: New findings or theories in educational research.
- Replication Studies: Validation of previous findings using similar or new methodologies.
- Reviews (By Invitation Only): Comprehensive evaluations of priority topics in education.
- Short Communications: Brief reports of significant findings.
Submission Checklist
Ensure that your manuscript meets the following criteria before submission:
- One author is designated as the corresponding author with complete contact details (email, phone, and address).
- The manuscript is prepared using the IJSTIP Template.
- All authors’ affiliations are included, and their contributions are clearly defined.
- The manuscript adheres to the formatting guidelines (e.g., word count, reference style).
- Ethical disclosures and declarations (e.g., AI use, conflicts of interest) are provided.
- The manuscript is free of plagiarism and adheres to a similarity index below 10%.
Preparing Your Manuscript
Article Structure
- Title Page:
- Title: Clear, concise, and descriptive. Avoid abbreviations.
- Author Details: Include full names, affiliations, and the corresponding author’s contact details.
- Abstract:
- Maximum 250 words.
- Summarize the purpose, methods, results, and conclusions of the study. Avoid citations.
- Keywords:
- Provide 3–7 relevant keywords for indexing purposes.
- Main Body:
- Introduction: State the background, research problem, and objectives.
- Literature Review: Discuss relevant studies and highlight research gaps.
- Methodology: Describe the research design, data collection, and analysis methods.
- Results/Findings: Present data and findings with appropriate tables or figures.
- Discussion: Interpret the findings and relate them to existing literature.
- Conclusion & Recommendations: Summarize the study’s significance and propose practical applications or further research.
- References:
- Use APA Style for all citations.
- Include at least 10 references, formatted consistently with DOIs where available.
Figures, Tables, and Graphical Content
- All figures and tables must be included directly within the manuscript.
- Tables should have captions placed above them, while figures should have captions placed below.
- Ensure all figures and tables are properly referred to within the text for clarity and coherence.
- Graphical content must be of high resolution (minimum 300 dpi) to maintain quality.
Open Access and Publication Fees
- Article Processing Charge (APC): $50 for up to three authors. Additional authors incur a fee of $10 each.
- Authors retain copyright but grant IJSTIP first publication rights. Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license.
Ethical Considerations
- Similarity Check:
- Manuscripts must have a similarity index below 10%, as verified by plagiarism detection tools (e.g., Turnitin, iThenticate).
- AI-Generated Content:
- AI tools can be used for language refinement but must not exceed 10% of the manuscript. AI usage must be disclosed in the manuscript.
- Conflict of Interest:
- Authors must disclose any financial or personal interests related to the research.
Submission Process
Manuscripts must be submitted through the IJSTIP Submission Portal. Authors will receive a confirmation email upon successful submission. The editorial team will review submissions for compliance with journal policies before proceeding to peer review.
Peer Review
IJSTIP follows a single-anonymized review process:
- Submissions are initially assessed by editors for scope and quality.
- Suitable manuscripts are sent to at least two expert reviewers.
- The editor makes the final decision based on reviewer feedback.
Proofs
Authors will receive proofs of their accepted manuscripts. Corrections should be returned within two days to avoid delays in publication. Significant changes are not permitted at this stage.
Data Sharing and Research Transparency
- Authors are encouraged to share research data in trusted repositories such as Mendeley Data or Figshare.
- A Data Availability Statement must be included in the manuscript, detailing how the data can be accessed or why it cannot be shared.
